Trabzonspor has hit out at the Turkish Football Association after its fans were banned from attending home matches.

The Turkish Football Association on Wednesday ordered Trabzonspor to play six of its home matches behind closed doors after violence erupted in a Süper Lig clash with Fenerbahce last month.

The home fans invaded the pitch after their club’s 3-2 defeat and they wanted to attack the opposing players.

The league also suspended Jayden Oosterwolde and Irfan Can Egribay for one game for fighting with opposing fans.

Now the club has asked the country’s football association for their heavy punishment, they expressed their protest on X. They wrote: “F*ck your justice. Stand up from your seats and resign”.

According to reports, Fenerbahce wants to leave the Turkish Super League completely in protest at the disgraceful incident at the Papara Park pitch. However, on Tuesday, the club’s members voted down the proposal for immediate withdrawal from the league, so a decision on this will only be made in the summer.

In any case, what is happening with the Turks is getting more and more sinister, in Western Europe it seems inconceivable at the moment that the clubs would officially allow such a degree of criticism of their association on their website.
