Are you from the dark side? Probably. As many as 71 percent of Androidworld readers always use dark mode. B@Zzz… for example: “Always dark mode, I find it much calmer to watch.” 71 percent, which is significantly more than the number of light mode users, which is only 13 percent.

Dark and light mode

There are of course also intermediate forms. That is not gray mode, but it does depend on which app or website is used: 11 percent use light and dark interchangeably. There is also 6 percent who indicate ‘other’ and we think these are people who use ‘automatic arming’. This was raised by several readers, including: aertsg in Megapaul.

In Sjoerd-1 also refers to that mode: “Most smartphones have the option to switch on a schedule for the light and dark mode or to use sunrise and sunset as moments of switching.” This would indeed not have been out of place as an option in the poll.

On time to bed

The great thing about switching on automatically is that it makes you even more aware of day and night. And who knows, it could mean that you go to bed a little more on time than if you sit in the light for a long time.
