Building a Reliable Routine
Developing consistency isn’t just about throwing darts; it’s about building a complete routine. This includes:
* Practice Regimen: Dedicated practice sessions leading up to competitions.
* The Throw: A repeatable, consistent throwing motion.
* Pre-Match Rituals: A calming and focusing walk-on routine.
These routines help create a sense of control and predictability, even under pressure.

One pivotal moment came after a chance encounter with a former player who observed his practice. “Matt Edgar saw me playing and said on commentary that my practice regime was wrong,” he recalls. “He could tell, and we got chatting and he tweaked my practice and gave me a few pointers.”
Furthermore, practicing with another experienced player provided subtle but significant improvements. “Just picking up little things from him has really helped,” he noted.
The continuous Pursuit of Improvement
Even with success, a growth mindset is essential.He acknowledges that mastering darts is a lifelong journey. “I’m still learning the game, I haven’t conquered it, I’m still far away from that.”
