We recently got the first details about the OnePlus 13, although globally new generation smartphones such as the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R have just arrived. The company would like to launch the first terminal with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, however, so the development of a successor has started early. Today we see a first image of the so-called OnePlus 13, and this rendering suggests an important design change for the terminal.
Starting with the OnePlus 10 Pro the company has chosen to bring a photo module wrapped around the frame on its flagships. At first the idea seemed to be copied from Samsung and its Galaxy S21 Ultra, but the South Korean company abandoned the idea, and this feature somehow became part of “ADN-ul OnePlus“. A OnePlus 11 followed with a circular photo mode attached to this frame, and in 2023 a more “refined” OnePlus 12.
If the image recently appeared on the web is correct, it looks like we’re saying goodbye to the photo module glued to the frame starting this year. OnePlus 13 would bring an elongated photo module involving 3 photo sensors. It kind of looks like an Xperia model from the back, except there’s a bumpy area around the main photo sensor. I also notice the subtly integrated Hasselblad inscription + a microphone.
The Digital Chat Station tipster says that the OnePlus 13 will indeed bring a major design change, so the company would consider this aspect for its new flagship. I would also mention the OnePlus Nord 5, a terminal that appeared in renderings recently and which would bring a design similar to that of the flagship above.
We also learn that the prototype tested by the company would bring an OLED display with 2K resolution and improvements would be prepared at the photo level.
