Jakarta: Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) reported a case dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has soared again in various regions of Indonesia. Based on the latest recapitulation data up to the 17th week of this year, the death rate due to dengue has increased three times higher than last year.
“The number of dengue fever cases is 88,593 with 621 dengue deaths. “Meanwhile in the same period in week 17 of 2023, the number of dengue fever cases was 28,579 cases with 209 deaths,” said Ministry of Health spokesperson Siti Nadia Tarmizi in a statement received. Furthermore, Nadia explained that West Java Province was the region most affected by dengue fever cases and deaths. It was explained that the city of Bandung is the region with the highest number of dengue fever cases in Indonesia, while Bandung district is the region with the highest number of deaths due to dengue fever.
“Bandung City has 3,468 cases and Bandung Regency has 29 deaths,” said Nadia.
For case data in other areas, the second largest is in Tangerang Regency with a total of 2,540. Then followed by the Bogor area which was the third highest with a total of 1,944 cases.
Furthermore, the fourth highest was in Kendari City with the number of cases 1,659. Lastly, West Bandung Regency, 1,576 cases
Meanwhile, the second highest death rate was in Jepara Regency with a total of 21 people. Furthermore, Bekasi Regency had 19 deaths.
“Subang Regency had 18 deaths and the fifth Kendal Regency had 17 deaths,” he said. (Devi Harahap)
