The doctor specializing in endocrinology, Pilar Riobó, explained in the Más Vale Tarde program that Wegoby, the new fashionable weight loss medication that will be available in pharmacies in Spain from May, “is not for everyone.”

The specialist has insisted that “it is the first time that a medication is effective in weight loss” and works very well for people who suffer from obesity. According to her, the drug is intended for “patients with a body mass index greater than 30.”

Riobó rules out the possible side effects of the drug because he assures that the benefits – for obese people – are many. “Obesity also has side effects, it is a disease that kills. It is associated with diabetes, hypertension, knee problems, certain cancers…”, he wanted to emphasize.

Even so, the doctor has emphasized that “a doctor has to balance this” and that the drug “is not for everyone,” but for patients with obesity.
