A new era of water and sanitation infrastructure is underway in teh San Juan province,marking the beginning of a nationwide initiative to improve access to these essential services.
On Saturday, President Luis Abinader and Wellington Arnaud, the executive director of the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewerage (INAPA), officially opened a new wastewater treatment plant and upgraded the sanitary sewer system in Las Matas de Farfán. These projects are part of a larger effort to enhance water access and sanitation throughout the region, including the expansion of the Las Matas de Farfán aqueduct, the reconstruction of the Juan de Herrera aqueduct‘s pumping line, the activation of the el Córbano aqueduct, and the expansion of the Yabonico multiple aqueduct.
These infrastructure improvements represent the government’s commitment to the health,well-being,and quality of life for its citizens,especially in communities that have long awaited lasting solutions for water access and sanitation.
The expansion of the Las Matas de Farfán aqueduct involved the construction of a well field, a new storage tank with a 400 cubic meter capacity, the installation of 1,653 connections, and the implementation of new conduction and distribution networks. You’ll find this significantly improves the availability of potable water in the area.
