Drake University Announces joint JD/PhD or JD/EdD Program
Drake University will launch a new joint degree program in fall 2026, allowing students to simultaneously earn a Juris Doctor (JD) from the Drake University Law school and either a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education or a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Leadership from the School of Education. The integrated program is designed to be completed in five to six years, preparing graduates for leadership positions in education policy, governance, and higher education.

Students will begin with full-time law studies before transitioning to concurrent coursework in both schools. Admission to the program requires separate applications and acceptance into both the Drake University Law School and the School of Education.
