Turkish Football Federation published a new statement regarding the date of the TFF presidential election planned to be held on July 18.

Turkish Football Federation announced that the effort to advance the date of the TFF Elective Financial General Assembly failed to achieve its purpose.

TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi announced in his statement on April 7 that the financial general assembly of TFF will be held with elections on July 18. Thereupon, some clubs started a petition campaign to move the date earlier.

Issuing a new statement after the process, TFF said, “The effort to throw TFF and its boards in front of sports fans as an inconsistent excuse for the sporting failures of some clubs, and to try to weaken the institutional structure of TFF is to betray Turkish football.” He included his statements.

Stating that the effort to move the election date earlier “failed to achieve its purpose”, TFF said, “The elective congress and signature process, which some club managers have wanted to rush for a long time, keeping their personal ambitions, interests and interests ahead of national interests, has not achieved its purpose with the common sense attitudes of the majority of our clubs.” said.

The statement made by TFF is as follows:

Turkish Football Federation, an international institution affiliated with FIFA and UEFA whose duties and powers are determined by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, will continue to maintain its position as the governing institution of Turkish football, as it has been until today.

Efforts to throw TFF and its boards in front of sports fans as an inconsistent excuse for the sporting failures of some clubs, and attempts to weaken the institutional structure of TFF is a betrayal of Turkish football.

We continue our work with all transparency to ensure that the football family in Turkey is correctly informed at every stage and under all circumstances, and we will continue to do so. We would also like any of our clubs and club presidents to know that we will share with them any support and information they request so that they are not exposed to the manipulations of some malicious groups whose aim is to devalue Turkish football.

The elective congress and signature process, which some club managers have wanted to rush for a long time by prioritizing their personal ambitions, interests and interests over national interests, has not achieved its purpose with the common sense attitudes of the majority of our clubs. As we announced before, the TFF Elective Financial General Assembly will be held on July 18, 2024. We would like to thank again the majority of the Turkish football family who acted extremely responsibly by keeping the common interests of Turkish football above all else in this process.

In this respect, it is of great importance that the esteemed presidents and valuable managers of our distinguished clubs, whose goal is to have a say in world football, do not serve the chaos environment that Turkish football is being forced into, and that they do not refer to some sources that have no authority or knowledge. Because, even though the colors they love are different from each other, when it comes to the crescent and star jersey, the most important concentration of the Turkish Football Federation, the governing body of Turkish football, on the eve of the 2024 European Football Championship, will be the success of our National Team, due to our responsibility to our nation, which is one heart with our National Team.
