The government launched the initiative to settle the conscription status of Egyptians abroad to alleviate the harm caused by citizens who were unable to join military service. The initiative will continue for two months since its launch in May, as the Ministry of Immigration opened its doors to register requests from Egyptians abroad to settle the conscription status.

Benefits of settling the enlistment position

The initiative has a major mission, as it facilitates those who have not joined the military service and exceeded the specified time to return again to the country, and the possibility of traveling again without being prevented, as they are considered wanted in order to perform the military service or end the conscription situation, as the Ministry of Immigration explained that the conscription situation can be settled permanently. Through the initiative, starting from the age of 18 to 30 years, and those over 30 years of age to settle their conscription position according to the situation.

The value of settling the conscription position of Egyptians abroad

The Ministry of Immigration announced that the passport of Egyptians abroad cannot be renewed except by settling the conscription situation, and that those residing in France can pay the expenses by going to the Egyptian Consulate in Paris in cooperation with the Military Representation Office, to facilitate the payment process, provided that about 7 thousand dollars or euros on the Bank of Egypt account.

Information and conditions of the conscription settlement initiative

The Ministry of Immigration revealed conditions and information regarding registration in the initiative to settle the conscription situation to stabilize the social situation through the following.

  • Citizens can access the initiative to settle the conscription situation through the Ministry’s website External.
  • The designated authorities receive requests to finally settle conscription positions, for the categories to which the law applies at the age of conscription, from 18 to 30 years of age.
  • After paying the prescribed fees, the individual obtains a certified certificate from the embassy or consulate that the individual has paid the expenses in the prescribed accounts.
  • If the individual does not settle the conscription situation, the passport is not allowed to be renewed for Egyptians abroad.
