In a note made up of three points, Porto’s SAD states that “it is false and gratuitous to state that the deals relating to the commercial exploitation of the Estádio do Dragão recently announced are “accounting cosmetics””.

“Comparing what has happened now with the reevaluation of the stadium carried out in 2014 only reveals the inability to evaluate the operation carried out. This is, in essence, the sale of a 30% stake in the new Porto Comercial, which impacts equity and involves a financial contribution of between 60 and 70 million euros, as we have already made public”, he details.

Then, it is stated that “it is false that FC Porto, FC Porto’s SAD or any of the group’s companies paid commissions under the contract for the transfer of television rights signed with Altice”.

Finally, “the statement made (by André Villas-Boas) that the construction of the FC Porto Academy in Maia “is nothing more than a utopia and a stream of lies” – possibly created with the aim of damaging the club’s position in this process – will very soon be contradicted by reality”, concludes the administration of Porto’s SAD.

“Unfortunately, it is inevitable to conclude that the propagation of these falsehoods less than 48 hours after a 5-0 defeat over Benfica had the sole objective of preventing the media space related to FC Porto from being occupied with the echoes of the brilliance of that victory” , defends the blue and white SAD.

At the beginning of this week, André Villas-Boas, candidate for president of the dragons, said that “it is becoming increasingly evident that the Academia in Maia is nothing more than a utopia and a stream of lies” and that “people around Pinto da Costa were in the television rights business with Altice and people on the new list are linked to the centralization of television rights”.

“It is (Pinto da Costa) himself who has to clarify the people who are on his list. It’s a dirty war that I don’t want to get into and I hope that it will be possible to elevate FC Porto’s good name from now on”, concluded André Villas-Boas, at the time.
