According to the WHO, cases of malaria are increasing in Ethiopiacon 328,881 new cases reported since the beginning of this year.

Between January 1 and 28, it was reported 84 deaths in all the country; a month-on-month increase of 16 percent.

Resources are being mobilized to support malaria prevention, treatment and awareness campaigns across the country.

November saw the highest number of malaria cases in at least seven years in Ethiopia.

Malaria is endemic in Ethiopia with highest prevalence in areas below 2,000 meters altitude, covering three-quarters of the country’s land mass, with an estimated population of 52 million.
