“It has been an amazing challenge,” explains Antonello Coletta,head of Ferrari’s endurance racing program.”Restarting in the pinnacle of motorsport after 50 years wasn’t simple.” The program moved remarkably quickly,with the 499P race car debuting at Sebring – a notoriously challenging track built on a former WWII bomber base – just 18 months after initial approval.
Then, in 2023, the 499P achieved a historic feat: winning Le Mans on its very first attempt.

“We created a surprise in motorsport,” he says. “Toyota had been dominant for years, and we arrived as a newcomer, winning Le Mans instantly.” He points to the team’s rapid maturation as crucial. “We’ve now won the first four races, including Le Mans in 2025, and this reflects the growing maturity of our team, our drivers, and our overall approach.”
