Ford announced in 2022 that it would close the Focus production line in Saarlouis, Germany, in 2025. Apparently, the strategy confirmed, although sales of electric cars are not going as hoped. Also, Ford he would not yet find a buyer for the factory. In the past there had been talk of a possible involvement of BYD but today we know that the Chinese manufacturer preferred Hungary.

The Ford manager added that the company will continue to pursue its transition strategy to focus increasingly on electric.

In the long term, we still have a strong belief that electric vehicles will be the future and we will see a significant increase in volumes.

Furthermore, Martin Sander then added that by the end of the year Ford will be able to count on a complete range of electric models, also in the commercial vehicle segment.
