Zdeněk Psotka Returns to Viktoria Plzeň as Academy Director
Zdeněk Psotka has been appointed as the new director of the Viktoria Plzeň football academy, the club announced on January 26, 2026. This marks a return to Plzeň for Psotka, who previously served as the club’s sporting director from 2017.
previous Roles and Experience
Prior to his return to Viktoria Plzeň, Psotka spent time with the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR), where his tenure concluded in the summer of 2023. Following his departure from the FAČR, he joined Zbrojovka Brno as a sports manager, a position he left in the autumn of the previous year. His extensive background in czech football advancement makes him a valuable asset to Viktoria Plzeň.

According to viktorie Plzeň chairman of the board and CEO Adolf Šádek, the appointment of Psotka aligns with the club’s strategic focus on academy development following a change in ownership. Šádek stated, “After the entry of the new owner, we have made the development of our academy one of our key goals. Therefore, I am glad that we have found common ground with Zdeněk Psotka, who is one of the most experienced experts in the field, and our paths are connecting again.”
