Former minister Olga Ramalason imprisoned

Olga Ramalason, legislative candidate, is detained in Antanimora.

A quick procedure. This is how Maître Hanitra Razafimanantsoa, deputy and candidate of Firaisankina for her own succession to the district of Tana I, describes the questioning of Olga Ramalason, deputy candidate of the same platform in Antsirabe I, yesterday. According to the explanations of the deputy of the first district, the candidate from Antsirabe was summoned to the Anti-Corruption Center (PAC) yesterday morning. After several hours of waiting, she was transferred to the Antanimora central house.

In the evening, Hanitra Razafimanantsoa, accompanied by Fidel Razara Pierre and Rina Randriamasinoro, went to Antanimora prison to support their colleague. According to the lawyer, the reason for the arrest dates back to a land affair dating from 2009, when Olga Ramalason was mayor of the city of Antsirabe. The Tana I deputy candidate says she is concerned about the development of the situation. “We wonder if this situation is not linked to the fact that she is a deputy candidate,” she added.

As a reminder, before running as a candidate in the legislative elections, Olga Ramalason has already occupied strategic political positions. In the late 2000s, she served as mayor of the town of Eaux. During the transition in the early 2010s, she was a senator from Madagascar.
