Former NFL player Kevin Johnson dies at 55

Former NFL defensive tackle Kevin Johnson has died at the age of 55, according to reports. ESPN reported that Johnson passed away Sunday morning in Atlanta.

Johnson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1992 NFL Draft and played six seasons in the league with the Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins. he recorded 16.5 sacks and 268 total tackles in 93 career games.

After his NFL career, Johnson transitioned to Arena Football, playing for the Orlando Predators and the Los Angeles Avengers. He won an ArenaBowl championship with the Predators in 1998.

Johnson was known for his versatility,playing both defensive tackle and defensive end during his career. He was a key contributor to the Steelers’ defense in the early 1990s.
