China recently unveiled a fully electric supercar, which could even surpass a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
The Asian giant is slowly conquering the international automotive market, thanks to its low-cost and extremely attractive models. China’s main objective is in fact to acquire leadership in the zero-emission vehicle sector, through the sale of very low cost electric cars. All this demonstrates the speed with which the Asian giant wants to reach the top of the world. A famous Chinese car manufacturer recently showed the world an exceptional electric supercar, capable of challenging even Ferrari and Lamborghini.
China, here is the record-breaking electric supercar
The car manufacturer BYD Auto, founded in 2003 in Shenzhen, presented its new jewel: the BYD Yangwang U7. The latter is an extremely luxurious sedan, characterized by four electric motors and lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries. Despite having an electric propulsion it can very well be considered a real supercar, since it releases 1,300 horsepower. And not only that: on Chinese territory it should be sold for 1 million yuan, which would be around 130,000 euros. The BYD brand, thanks to the great success achieved by some of its models, is also expanding to every corner of the world, especially in Europe.

In 2023, the Shenzhen company sold more than 3 million vehicles on various continents. However, the best result was achieved in the electric sector, selling 1.6 million zero-emission cars and 1.4 million with hybrid engines. The leaders of the Chinese brand, thanks to the excellent results, are obviously accelerating the development and production of new electric cars. So what are the most important features of the Yangwang U7 supercar? First of all, it presents itself as a luxurious sedan approximately 5 meters long, equipped with four electric motors: each wheel therefore has its own motor.
The propulsion force reaches a total power of 960 kW, which corresponds to 1,300 horsepower. Despite its 3,095 kg curb weight, the vehicle is still capable of reaching a top speed of 270 km/h. The Yangwang U7 will also be sold with two variants: the first will have a range of 720 km, while the second can reach up to 800 km on a single charge. The passenger compartment is instead characterized by three large displays and various configurations, which allow four or five seats to be obtained.
