From Nightclub Excess to New Life: Nadeen’s Journey From Despair to Divine Purpose
the silence after a desperate cry for help can be deafening. For Nadeen, that silence echoed years of pain, leading her down a path of searching and ultimately, to the brink of ending her life. Her story is a powerful testament to the transformative power of faith and the unexpected ways God works in our lives.
A Search for Something More
As a teenager and young adult, Nadeen relentlessly pursued anything that promised to numb the ache within. This search led her thru New Age practices, exploration of the occult, engagement with Buddhist teachings, and the allure of vibrant social scenes. She eventually found herself immersed in the glamorous nightlife of Dubai and Atlanta, accumulating wealth and attention.
Yet, as she confessed, “I had everything-money, cars, attention, but it meant nothing.” the emptiness persisted, growing even amidst outward success.
This feeling culminated one night in Atlanta. Surrounded by stacks of cash in her apartment, Nadeen was overcome with a profound sense of despair. She had reached the peak of her ambition, only to discover it was a hollow victory.
That night, she made the agonizing decision to end her life. She took a week off work, penned farewell letters to loved ones, and meticulously prepared her apartment. Her plan was to jump from a building, believing death offered the peace she couldn’t find in life.
An Unexpected Invitation
In a twist of fate, a friend – a drug dealer beginning his own spiritual journey – invited her to church. With nothing left to lose, Nadeen accepted. She walked through the doors wearing the only covering she had: a t-shirt emblazoned with the Virgin Mary holding an AK-47.
What happened next was life-altering. During the service, the pastor read Matthew 16:26: “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?”
The verse struck Nadeen with stunning force. She described a moment of disbelief, looking around at the quiet congregation, feeling an overwhelming urge to speak out. “I’m thinking to myself, who wrote that? Who is Matthew? What book is this in? What is Matthew’s last name? How does he know so much about me?”
Encountering a Transformative Love
That evening, during the altar call,Nadeen experienced what she describes as the real, personal, and life-changing love of Jesus. The torment that had plagued her since childhood began to dissipate.
As she delved into the Bible at home,a profound realization dawned. When she had cried out for help, it wasn’t Krishna, Buddha, the universe, or Allah who answered – it was Jesus.
God used a man deeply entrenched in a life of sin to extend a lifeline. Nadeen reflects, “If that’s not the love of God, someone dead in sin himself invited me to church!”
A Life Dedicated to Sharing Freedom
Today, Nadeen is happily married to Rotimi. Together, they lead Kole Ministries, a ministry dedicated to helping others experience the same freedom and change they found through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.
Nadeen’s story is a powerful reminder that:
* Hope exists even in the darkest moments. No matter how lost you feel, there is always a path to healing and restoration.
* God works in unexpected ways. He often uses unlikely people and circumstances to reach us.
* True fulfillment isn’t found in worldly possessions. Lasting peace and joy come from a relationship with Jesus Christ.
