At least one grenade was reportedly detonated during the attack, a massive fire broke out, and many people were trapped in the building due to the fire.

Ch. Grozev spoke on the “Dožd” channel on Friday about the versions of why the attack was carried out and who could be behind it.

The journalist emphasized that although it is still early to draw conclusions, he put forward three main versions.

According to Ch. Grozev, the most likely version is that the attack could have been carried out by terrorists of the Islamic State (IV). According to him, the attack happened shortly after the Russian Security Service (FSB) carried out the arrests of IV terrorists. According to a journalist on Vladimir Putin’s most-wanted list, if the FSB publishes exactly this version, it will probably be true.

However, Ch. Grozev emphasized that there are more versions. He pointed out that Russian special forces have been training Afghan fighters in Russia for a year.

He also mentioned the capabilities of the Kremlin itself.

According to Ch. Grozev, it cannot be ruled out that the FSB itself could have had a hand in the attack. It is said that this could be done due to attempts to improve the conditions for general mobilization.
