The Role: Architecting the Next Generation of public Sector AI
As a full Stack Engineer at Hazel, you’ll be instrumental in architecting and building our core platform. You’ll work directly with our customers to understand their needs and translate those insights into impactful features. Expect a fast-paced environment where you’ll deploy new features weekly and confront complex technical challenges. You’ll also play a key role in shaping our team’s culture and operating principles.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
* Drive Product Development: Define, iterate, and execute projects that accelerate customer procurement workflows.
* Champion Continuous Enhancement: Identify and implement improvements to our engineering processes and structures.
* Collaborate & Innovate: Partner with colleagues, customers, and partners to deliver innovative solutions aligned with strategic priorities.
* Ensure Quality & Security: Take ownership of projects,guaranteeing they meet the highest standards of quality,performance,and security.
What You bring to the Table
We’re looking for a proven full-stack engineer with a strong foundation in modern web technologies. You’re not afraid to dive deep into complex problems and are passionate about building robust,scalable applications.
Essential Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience as a full-stack engineer or in a similar role.
* Proficiency in our core tech stack:
* TypeScript
* Node.js
* React/Next.js
* Python
* postgresql/Supabase
* AWS & Vercel
* Cursor
* Git
* Docker
* Excellent technical writing skills for user training, documentation, and proposals.
* Genuine enthusiasm for bringing innovation to the public sector.
* A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
* Willingness to travel up to 25% for team co-location (New York/Boston) and customer visits.
* U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. government security clearance.
Bonus Points:
* Experience in a startup or fast-paced, startup-like environment.
* Experience building and scaling applications with a notable user base.
* Ability to translate business priorities into technical requirements and vice versa.
* Prior experience working with or alongside the public sector.
* Experience presenting to senior stakeholders (C-suite,elected officials,etc.).
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package and a supportive work environment.
* Base Salary: $120,000 – $200,000 USD (dependent on experience, knowledge, and security clearance eligibility).
* Equity: 0.5% – 1% Company equity
