Third gold for Julia Simon

In the fight for the day’s victory, Julia Simon was once again in a class of her own. The Frenchwoman only had to go into the penalty loop once and won her third gold medal in the Czech Republic in a superior manner, 46.3 seconds ahead of the Italian Lisa Vittozzi (1 penalty). Bronze went to another Frenchwoman, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (+49.3 seconds/4 penalties).

VOICES:

Anna Gandler (twelfth): “It was tough today and I didn’t really feel good when I started. Things went better in the race itself, but especially at the end the pace was just a bit too high for me. I almost couldn’t avoid the two mistakes in the last standing stage because I was just so exhausted, so I definitely have to be happy today.”

Tamara Steiner (16. Platz): At the shooting range today it was simply perfect with four clear scores and I am of course completely satisfied. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an ideal day on the cross-country ski trail today, but thanks to my good starting position from the sprint, I still managed to finish in a strong 16th place.”
