Plain text in the ARD talk show “Hart aber Fair”!

This time the big topic on the show is the planned investor entry into the German Football League (DFL) and the associated fan protests in the football stadiums. Among other guests: Hanover boss Martin Kind (79).

Kind is attacked by fan representative Thomas Kessen (fan association “Our Curve”) – because of his role in the narrow vote on the planned investor deal in German professional football.

Almost everything indicates that Kind ignored the no order from the parent association, Hannover eV, and thereby ensured the necessary two-thirds majority (24:10 votes with two abstentions). But that hasn’t been proven.

Even with “Hard but Fair”, despite several questions, Kind refuses to give a clear answer as to whether he voted yes or no in the vote. The Hanover boss: “We have a very special situation with the 96 contract. We assume that we will observe the 50+1 rule taking into account this 96 contract.”

Kessen intervenes and says: “Mr Kind actually has the opportunity to prevent a lot of damage to German football. The fact that we are at this point is already doing massive damage to German football. We’re talking about whether Mr. Kind voted yes or no and whether he followed the club’s instructions.”

Kessen then tells Kind: “Then we would at least have certainty. What is actually behind the protests is that democratic acceptance is not given or at least is massively doubted. Especially because of your behavior and your fussing in the discussion afterwards.”

Child: “Ok, I take note of that.”

The other guests in the talk show: SPD General Secretary Kevin Kühnert, world and European champion Ariane Hingst, ex-football professional and coach Markus Babbel, “11 Friends” sports journalist Mia Guethe, Nico Heymer, podcaster and manager of Calcio Berlin in the Baller League, sports show reporter Marcus Bark and Christoph Breuer, professor at the Institute for Sports Economics and Sports Management at the Cologne Sports University.
