SANAA – Yemen’s Houthi (Ansarallah) group announced it had launched a “fourth stage of escalation” against Israel, until the Israeli war ends and the siege of Gaza is lifted.
Ansarallah military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said Ansarallah members “will target all ships bound for Israeli ports in any area we reach regardless of their nationality and destination.”
Furthermore, “Yemeni groups will impose comprehensive sanctions on all ships belonging to companies associated with Israeli ports, if Israel carries out a land invasion of Rafah,” according to Saree.
“If Israel’s enemies launch aggression against Rafah, we will impose sanctions on all ships associated with the (Israeli) port,” Saree said, adding “and we will prevent the ships of companies associated with the port from passing through our territory. operations, regardless of nationality and purpose.”
Regarding a possible Israeli invasion of Rafah, Saree said, “In the event of such an invasion, Ansarallah will not hesitate to prepare for a wider and stronger escalation.”
Saree’s remarks came at a massive rally in Sana’a, which was held in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Large crowds gathered in the Yemeni capital carrying Palestinian flags and chanting anti-Israel slogans.
Yemenis also condemned the United States’ (US) support for Israel, which allows Tel Aviv to continue its war against Palestine.
