Hyundai Motor India has launched a new integrated service accessible via its myHyundai mobile application, providing users access to over 30,000 electric vehicle charging points across the country. The platform enables drivers of all EV brands to locate stations, book slots, and manage digital payments, aiming to reduce charging anxiety for Indian motorists.
Expansion of the Charging Network
Hyundai’s latest initiative connects existing electric vehicle infrastructure under a single digital roof. By collaborating with major charge point operators and service providers, the company has created a network that spans both urban centers and national highways.
The service is specifically targeted at key transit corridors, including the Delhi–Gurugram–Jaipur, Mumbai–Bengaluru, Mumbai–Goa, Chennai–Bengaluru, and Hyderabad–Bengaluru routes. These locations have been equipped with proximity to rest stops and dining facilities to improve the convenience of long-distance electric travel.
Infrastructure Targets and Environmental Impact
While the new platform aggregates third-party chargers, Hyundai continues to invest in its own proprietary infrastructure. The company currently operates 183 DC fast public charging stations and has set a goal to increase this number to 600 by 2030. These efforts represent a push to secure a larger share of the mass-market electric vehicle segment, with the automaker confirming plans to introduce a new electric SUV to the Indian market within the current fiscal year.
The company also disclosed performance metrics for its existing network. To date, the infrastructure has supported more than 3 lakh electric vehicle users and facilitated the distribution of over 50 lakh kilowatt-hours of electricity. Hyundai estimates that these charging operations have prevented approximately 35 lakh kilograms of carbon emissions.
Digital Integration and User Accessibility
The core of the service is the myHyundai application, which acts as a centralized interface for EV owners. Beyond merely locating the nearest station, the app provides real-time navigation and the ability to book charging slots in advance. This digital-first approach is intended to streamline the user experience, which often involves fragmented systems across different charging providers.
While the service is integrated into the Hyundai ecosystem, the company has made the network accessible to users of all electric vehicle brands.
