German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier came to Turkey as part of his three-day official visit to mark the 100th anniversary of the Turkey-Germany Friendship Treaty. The first stop of Steinmeier’s official visit was Istanbul. During his first visit as President, he invited people from the business world, journalists, politicians and sports world to the historical summer residence of the German Embassy in Tarabya. The invitation was attended by the 11th President Abdullah Gul and Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Ekrem İmamoğlu with Ambassador Feridun Sinirlioğlu also participated.
