Acquaintances say that he has been addicted to narcotics for a long time, and because of this he had a strained relationship with the woman. On Saturday, at the hearings, he managed with great difficulty to be coherent.

The 27-year-old does not work, and relatives say that he has been using drugs since he was 14. After his parents’ divorce, he stayed with his mother. The 54-year-old woman had a shop in Drobeta Turnu Severin where she sold wedding dresses. The two would have often argued over money. The same thing happened on Friday night. Neighbor: “I heard some noise, like around 2 last night, a man’s voice, but I don’t know, I didn’t go out.” After killing his mother, the individual drove to a nearby village to his father and brother. He told them what he did, and they asked for help at 112. Dr. Eleodor Mihuț, Mehedinți County Ambulance Service: “The patient was found agitated, when they went up to the house, together with the police, they found the mother of the agitated deceased person. The death had occurred much earlier than the time of the intervention of the crew with a doctor to be able to perform resuscitation.” Gheorghe Ciocan, prosecutor: “On the background of drug use and in a state of withdrawal, he committed acts of violence against his mother.” The young man is accused of murder and was detained for 24 hours. Prosecutors will ask that he be remanded in custody.
