Thousands of photos and videos of the alleged sex scandal of the former Prime Minister’s grandson India Deve Gowda, Prajwal Revanna, suddenly spread and caused a stir in India.
South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that photos and videos of the alleged scandal showed that Revanna allegedly committed rape and sexual violence against hundreds of women.

This scandal spread at a time when India was holding the largest general election in South Asia.
Revana is a member of the Janata Dal Party, a regional party based in the southern state of Karnataka which is in coalition with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
It is suspected that this scandal will bring down the BJP’s prestige and lose the majority of voters in this key state.
During the election campaign, Modi had campaigned for Revanna as one of the candidates from his coalition party. However, after the scandal broke, the BJP distanced itself from the 33-year-old man.
The BJP also claimed ignorance about the Revanna sex scandal.
A day after voting was held in his constituency on Friday, Revanna reportedly went to Germany. He has also denied the scandal.
According to The Times of IndiaRevanna’s scandalous photos and videos were allegedly faked and leaked by her aide who was not happy with her.
On Tuesday, the JD Party also suspended Revanna from party events due to the scandal.
This kind of scandal could become an existential crisis for the JD Party. Because the JD Party, as well as the BJP, have not yet conducted polls in north Karnataka.
A number of analysts also believe that this scandal will affect the vote share of the JD and BJP parties in Karnataka. The BJP is unlikely to win a majority in the state.
However, some analysts believe that the BJP still has a chance of winning in Karnataka. This is because the people of these states tend to like strong leaders like Modi.
