Finance Minister Visits Danantara Following Coretax Complaints
Jakarta – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa visited danantara’s office today following complaints from chief Investment Officer (CIO) Pandu Sjahrir regarding the Coretax system.
“Yesterday, Danantara complained that Coretax wasn’t working. I wanted to see if this was true or if the Danantara team was simply unable to input data,” Purbaya stated in a video posted on his Instagram account @menkeuri, on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Purbaya was accompanied by IT specialists from the tax office and local tax officials. He confirmed that Pandu Sjahrir had voiced strong concerns about the Coretax system.
However, upon arriving at Danantara’s office,Purbaya discovered that Pandu sjahrir was traveling abroad.
“I wanted to see for myself how valid the complaints were. (Danantara) complained to me extensively. I came here, and Mr. Pandu had left the country,” Purbaya added.
Purbaya reported that the issues raised by Danantara had been addressed. He noted that some minor problems remained, but these were not expected to substantially impact system performance.
“We will make some minor software adjustments, wich should be completed within a week or two. However, these are relatively minor issues and won’t disrupt the system or prevent taxpayers from completing their work,” Purbaya explained.
Purbaya believes the Coretax system is progressing positively, despite ongoing imperfections.
“I believe the Coretax system is moving in the right direction, although there are still shortcomings. However, it continues to improve,” Purbaya concluded.
