A British tourist claims she was raped by a bar owner while on holiday in Naples, Italy. He was followed to the toilet and attacked there.
Reporting from Daily Mail on Wednesday (6/3/2024), the alleged rape occurred in July 2023.
“Suddenly he attacked me brutally and pulled down his trousers,” said the tourist.
The tourist admitted to being traumatized and reported it to the hospital and police. He also admitted that the bar owner’s actions were assisted by two French tourists.
Even though he has returned to England, this tourist still asks for cooperation from the Italian authorities by providing DNA evidence from the hospital from 8 months ago. The police then tracked down the whereabouts of the assailant.
After reviewing the evidence, the bar owner finally became a suspect and was arrested for trying to escape during a recent arrest. The suspect is a man (27) with ownership of a bar in the historic Decumani area in Naples.
From the suspect’s statement, he initially saw two British tourists passing in front of the bar. He then invited the tourist to drink. However, as soon as the opportunity arose, he attacked and raped one of them.
Police are still continuing to investigate CCTV footage and interview witnesses. Meanwhile, two other French tourists are still in pursuit.
According to statistics, there are more than 5,000 cases of violence against women in Naples every year. This is considered a code red for the city of Naples.
