Ion Ţiriac owns several plots of land near the Henry Coandă airport through a company. The name of the Romanian billionaire’s company, Ion Țiriac Air SRL, appears as a plaintiff in a file opened on April 2 at the Ilfov court, writes fanatik.ro. In this file, the Romanian State through the Ministry of Finance” and “the Romanian State through the Ministry of Transport through Compania National Aeroporturi București SA” are parties.

Two plots belonging to Ion Ţiriac’s company were on the expropriation corridor to facilitate modernization works at the airport. Thus, the Romanian billionaire had to be compensated for two plots of land: one 277,357 square meters and the other with an area of ​​206,095 square meters. In total, Ion Ţiriac was supposed to receive 48,466,159.69 lei, i.e. approximately 10 million euros.

Ion Ţiriac decided to take the Romanian state to court on the grounds that he did not receive the full amount or because he wants to supplement it.
