Easier to leave for repair

The latest beta version reveals the possibility to leave your iPhone for repair without turning off functions.

Apple’s work on the upcoming Ios 17.5 continues, and the latest beta version of the operating system reveals a new repair mode that should make it possible to send an iPhone in for service without having to disable the Find My iPhone and Activation Lock tools. When the device is put into repair mode, both Find My and Activation Lock remain enabled, but you can tell that the device is in repair mode thanks to a stethoscope icon in the list of devices in Find My iPhone. This means, among other things, that the device can be tracked, even though it has been sent for service.

The feature is expected to be part of the update to Ios 17.5 which is slated to be released this May. However, it is not known if and when it may be launched for devices other than the iPhone.
