Iron & Wine and Band of Horses Unite for Unique Covers Project and fall Tour
Iron & Wine and Band of Horses are joining forces this fall, promising fans a special experience centered around their shared passion for reimagining classic songs. They’ve recently completed a covers project, and the anticipation is building.
One member expressed a feeling of hopeful accomplishment regarding a particular track. He recalled knowing, even months after recording it, that the song had potential to resonate with a wide audience, and he’s hoping their rendition does it justice.
This collaboration isn’t entirely new territory for Iron & Wine. They’ve built a reputation for stunning interpretations of other artists’ work. Remember their acclaimed covers of New Order’s “Love Vigilantes” and The Postal Service’s “Such Great Heights“? Those versions found a new life on the soundtrack to the 2005 film Garden State.
Sing Into my Mouth showcases a diverse range of influences. The project features songs originally made famous by artists like Sade, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Spiritualized. It’s a testament to their eclectic tastes and willingness to explore different musical landscapes.
Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming tour:
Separate Sets: Both Iron & Wine and Band of Horses will perform their own individual sets.
Collaborative Performance: A dedicated portion of each show will be devoted to performing the songs from their new covers project.
The tour kicks off on September 18th in Seattle. It’s a chance to witness two acclaimed bands not only share the stage but also celebrate the art of musical interpretation. If you appreciate thoughtful covers and captivating live performances, this is one you won’t want to miss.
