This is a big challenge for the sector, considering
that thanks to subsidies from the Clean Air program
230,000 gas boilers have already been purchased since 2018.
Gas heating is becoming less and less profitable
Currently, gas heating may be cheaper than using heat pumps, but this situation is expected to change dramatically after 2030.
Tobiasz Adamczewski from Forum Energii warns that if we invest in a gas boiler now, we can expect increasingly larger bills related to emission fees in the future.

New regulations to be introduced under the amendment to the EPBD directive impose requirements on buildings regarding carbon dioxide emissions.
The ban on heating buildings with fossil fuels will be introduced gradually, starting from new buildings from 2028 to existing ones that are undergoing major renovation, from 2035 to 2040.
With the introduction of the new ETS 2 fee from 2027, heating bills may increase significantly.
