Major General Staff Sherif Fahmi Bishara, Governor of Ismailia, followed the free medical convoy in the village of Al-Aqada, affiliated with the center and city of Fayed, and organized by the Directorate of Health and Population in Ismailia. The convoy received 1,579 cases as part of the treatment convoy plan organized by the Ministry of Health and Population in all specialties in the villages and hamlets most in need. To improve the level of medical services, within the framework of the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, and in implementation of the state’s directives to provide free medical care to the most needy families and remote areas.

Bishara stressed the need to provide integrated medical services to citizens and facilitate procedures for the elderly and people of determination.

For his part, Dr. Ali Hatab, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Ismailia, indicated that the convoy included medical specialties, including pediatric, internal medicine, urinary tract, women’s and family planning clinics, general surgery, urology, dermatology, dentistry, a nose and ear clinic, an early detection clinic for blood pressure and diabetes, a blood laboratory, and a pharmacy containing 100 types of medications. In addition to health education and awareness of the importance of receiving the Corona vaccine and immediate registration, in addition to awareness of the importance of registering in the comprehensive health insurance system.

Dr. Buthaina Barakat, Director of Convoys at the Health Directorate, explained that these convoys are not only limited to providing free examination, treatment and referral services, but also include holding awareness seminars for citizens. With the aim of raising awareness of the seriousness of diseases and the necessity of paying attention to public hygiene, she confirmed that 729 citizens were received on the first day of the medical convoy, while on its second day the medical convoy received 850 citizens.
