Donald Trump faces prison sentence
The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s trial said the former president had violated the gag order imposed on him.
It was even stated that the violation had been committed so many times that it was deemed to be in contempt of court.
Therefore, judge Juan Merchan could potentially sentence Trump to prison, who had previously been fined nine times for violating the ‘gag order’.
But he said a prison sentence was a “last resort” for various reasons, including disrupting the trial, the political implications of jailing a presidential candidate ahead of elections, as well as security challenges.
Met Gala 2024 in New York
The Met Gala, the biggest and most expensive fashion show, was held again at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York with the theme “The Garden of Time”.
This annual event is held to raise funds for the Costume Institute which is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This year, the Costume Institute held the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”.
This exhibition displays 250 collections of dresses and fashion designs that are hundreds of years old.
