Now even the United States, a historic ally of Israel, questions the conduct of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip. Internally, protests against the government are growing after a period of support for the prime minister – before the Hamas attacks, Netanyahu was the target of protests for trying to reform the Judiciary. Direct from Yiad, a community in northern Israel, João reports how the prime minister is in a critical situation internally – with his government coalition at risk. For him, Netanyahu’s situation is “uncomfortable”, without being able to meet the demands of both his governing base and the opposition. And externally, with the international community pressing for a ceasefire.
