A new president of Orlen has been elected

As we read in the announcement sent by the Płock concern, Ireneusz Fąfara has been appointed as the president of Orlen. He will start his new role on April 11. In the years 2010-2018, Fąfara was the president of Orlen Lietuva, a Lithuanian company belonging to the Orlen Group. From 2022, he served as the president of 4Cell Therapies, a company from the medical industry. In the past, he also worked at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Bank Energetyki SA in Radom and was a member of the management board for economic and financial affairs at the Social Insurance Institution.

The Supervisory Board also elected the first Vice-President of the Management Board for Corporate Affairs, Witold Literacki, who was the acting president of Orlen after the departure of Daniel Obajtek. The Council also dismissed Ireneusz Sitarski from his temporary delegation to perform the duties of a management board member.

Changes in Orlen

On March 18, Orlen’s supervisory board announced that the qualification procedure for the positions of 9 members of Orlen’s management board may be extended due to the large number of applications. At the beginning of last month she announced that 260 applications were submitted in the proceedings candidates.

On February 1, Daniel Obajtek, who had been the head of the Płock concern since February 6, 2018, was dismissed from the position of Orlen’s president.
