João Lourenço highlights economic reforms at Korea-Angola Business Forum –

During the Korea-Angola Business Forum that took place this Monday, 29th, in Seoul, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, highlighted the economic reforms that have been implemented in the country by his government.

“In 2018 we began a broad program of economic, institutional and financial reforms with the aim of creating the conditions for diversified and sustainable economic growth.
We have launched an ambitious program to modernize infrastructure to support economic and social development,” he said.

The Forum, an event included in João Lourenço’s state visit to the Republic of Korea, brought together businessmen from the two countries where they discussed “how to expand business relations between Angola and Korea, in the same act in which AIPEX and Korean Trade and Investment Promotion Agency signed a memorandum of understanding,” the Presidency said.

“We aspire to sustainable and inclusive growth for our country, we have a young population, committed and eager for new opportunities for professional advancement and employment, so we count on your competence and skills to together build bridges of permanent connection between our countries and peoples”, highlighted João Lourenço.

Also today, the Angolan delegation visited the headquarters of the Korean parliament, where João Lourenço was received by the President of the National Assembly, Kim Jin-Pyo.

During the visit, the “President of the Republic expressed the desire to see a certain number of productive activities carried out by Korean companies also have a presence in the Angolan market, such as the naval industry, the assembly of motor vehicles and the production of solar panels, among many other fronts”, informs the statement to which the Kianda’s Mail had access.

On the first day of his visit to Seoul, the President of the Republic also held a meeting with students undergoing training in this Asian country.

“The audience allowed the students – in this case representatives of the Angolan community established in this Asian country – to share with the Head of State their ideas and expectations as professionals in preparation, showing, all of them, the firm desire to contribute with their knowledge to the development of the country once they are formed”, highlighted the Presidency.
