Joko Widodo Expected at PSI National Working Meeting Amidst Speculation Over Key Party Role
Public anticipation is building as Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is expected to attend the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI)’s National Working Meeting (Rakernas) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, today. This follows a hint from PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep that “Bapak J” - widely speculated to be Jokowi – will be appointed as Chairman of the PSI Advisory Board for the 2025-2030 period.
Kompol Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah, Jokowi’s aide, confirmed the President’s attendance to reporters on Friday, January 30, 2026. ”insyaallah (God willing) he will attend,” Syarif stated.
The identity of “Bapak J” has been a subject of much discussion. During the opening of the Rakernas on Thursday, January 29th, Kaesang playfully questioned the absence of the future Advisory Board Chairman. “I respectfully address the Secretary of the PSI Advisory Board, Ibu Grace Natalie, and all of her staff, without a chairman.
