This will be Jonas’ second MXGP pre-season race. The previous weekend in France, he competed in the Sommières International Motocross, where he won third place in the MX1 class in both races and overall, but in the Superfinal, where he got into a scuffle with other riders after the start, he ended up in tenth place.

Also, strong athletes competed there, such as world vice-champion Romain Favre, Jeremy Sievers, Mattia Guadagnini and others.

The Standing Construct Honda MXGP Team rider will once again be on the grid at Hawkstone International Motocross in the MX1 class, as will his new teammate Alberto Forato.

Other stars of the world championship will also start – the already mentioned Favre, the similarly titled Jeffrey Herlings, who hopes to finally finish the season without injuries, also Glen Coldenhoff, Brent van Donink and Roan van de Moosdijk. In total, 35 participants applied for this class.

33 athletes have applied to participate in the MX2 class. Among them last year’s MX2 World Champion Adrea Adamo, Liam Everts, Jake Nicholls, Cass Valk, Haakon Osterhagen and Joel Ritchie.

In 2018, while still competing in the MX2 class, Jonas became the winner of the “Hawkstone International” motocross.
