‘When on April 9, 2022, two days after my 80th birthday, Daniëlle was diagnosed with ‘rectal cancer with metastases’, my world collapsed and there was only room for intense sadness and disbelief. She still had so much to say. Her passion lay in yoga, singing mantras and, above all, being able to share this in light and love with the people around her. ‘When I heard this, I went to the Lady of All Nations chapel. After all, Jesus once said: Whatever you ask in my name, I will do. So I prayed: Jesus, in your name, let my daughter be healed. Every day. The sisters and priests also prayed for Daniëlle, even at her home in Naarden. I really thought she was improving. But it wasn’t meant to be… That’s why I can’t bear to go to the chapel anymore. I’m not angry, but I am very disappointed. The worst thing for me is that Daniëlle suffered so much pain, but was able to accept it in the belief that she would get better,’ says Joop.
