The reported KM Mugi Jaya ship lost in the waters of the Binuangeun Estuary, LebakBanten, found in waters Kulon Progo, south coast of Yogyakarta. This ship drifted because it ran out of fuel.
“While the victims are still in shock, they can only provide information that they have run out of fuel,” said Head of the Banten Basarnas Operations Section, Heru Amir when asked for information, Thursday (14/3/2024).
There were four fishermen on the KM Mugi Jaga ship. The four are named Arba, Acil, Anggi and Masita, all from Wanasalam District.
Amir explained that the fishermen went to sea using the KM Mugi Jaya ship on Friday (8/3) at 15.30 WIB. The plan was for the fishermen to only go to sea for two days.
As of Sunday (10/3), the KM Mugi Jaya ship had not returned to Binuangeun. The ship carrying four fishermen was later found in Kulon Progo Waters, Yogyakarta, last night.
“We received information that the KM Mugi Jaya ship was found in Kulon Progo waters
It was found last night,” he said.
Amir explained that the fishermen immediately lowered the anchor when they saw land. They swam towards land.
“The four of them swam to the shore but when they arrived at the shore there were only two fishermen, namely Acil and Marsita, while the other two fishermen, Anggit and Ardi, had not been found,” he concluded.
As previously reported, four fishermen were reported to have lost contact in the waters of Muara Binuangeun, Lebak Regency, Banten. The fishermen went to sea using the KM Mugi Jaya ship.
