The DStv Kwenda Magic television channel debuts today, April 14th, a new program on its schedule, a nationally produced talent show, O Caça-Talentos.

Caça-Talentos is a documentary reality program inspired by the daily life of multifaceted artist Hochi Fu. This man, who in his professional career was responsible for the emergence of some names in our music such as Os Lambas, Cabo Snoop, and more recently the irreverent Clayton M, will now use all his vision, art and experience, to find the next big thing. national music star.

Converting his auditions into a television program, producer Hochi Fu will open the doors of the Power House studios to listen, motivate and, above all, choose candidates for his artistic mentorship. With this, the program will bring to light everything that goes behind the scenes of creating a successful musician and how the music industry works as a whole. It will be like “finding hidden treasure in unexpected places”, says the producer.

The figure of Hochi Fu needs no introduction, he is a video and advertising director, who two decades ago revolutionized the Angolan film market, involved in many advertising successes, music videos and national films. He is a music lover and is known as Angola’s “talent hunter”, having managed to turn several young people’s dreams into reality on several occasions.

For João Ribeiro, general director of the channel, “this investment in a talent show opens a window to another type of audience, one that likes real emotions, young and vibrant, dreamy and has a strong connection to music and dance”. The program comprises three phases, the first being the selection phase, with public hearings to choose 30/40 pre-selected candidates, who will later be evaluated in front of a panel of judges.

The next phase comprises the incubator, where 10 chosen ones will go to the mentoring house where they will be honed with musical training. They will compete against each other, there will be challenges, dynamics and shows where the five best will be chosen.

The final phase of the program will dictate how prepared the five chosen artists will be and only the one with the most votes will be the winner. At this stage, the public will vote together with the jury, made up of Angolan music hall artists.

The Talent Scout is the first talent show of Kwenda Magic and marks a new facet of the channel, which asserts itself as the channel for differentiating national content. In just two years of existence, Kwenda Magic has already invested in the production of three soap operas, a series, a sitcom and is now investing in a talent showall of national production.

The Talent Hunt premieres on Sunday, April 14th, at 9pm, on Kwenda Magic, channel 505, exclusive to DStv.
