Advocates in Farrukhabad protest Against UGC Act, Deeming it “Black Law”
Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh – Lawyers in the Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh staged a protest at the Collectorate complex on Thursday, voicing their opposition to the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act. The demonstration involved slogans and the submission of a memorandum to City Magistrate Sanjay Kumar, demanding the withdrawal of what they termed a “black law.”
The protest saw active participation from female lawyers, who joined their colleagues in registering their dissent against the UGC Act at the District Magistrate’s office. Demonstrators argued that the act is detrimental to the interests of the upper-caste community and labeled it an unjust piece of legislation.

Senior advocates satypal Singh Chauhan,Rajiv Singh Rathore,Subhash Chandra Srivastava,and Sushil Singh were among the hundreds of lawyers present at the demonstration.
