The gradual closure of the Signify and Powertrain factories has not had a significant impact on the unemployment rate in Bielsko-Biała so far. After a minimal increase at the beginning of the year, the number of unemployed people currently remains stable.
According to the Central Statistical Office, the unemployment rate at the end of March was: 5.3 percent in the country. (decrease by 0.1 pp compared to February), in the Silesian Voivodeship – 3.8 percent. (decrease by 0.1 pp), and in Bielsko-Biała – 2%. (without changes).
For comparison, in the same period last year the unemployment rate for the whole of Poland was 5.4 percent, for the Silesian Voivodeship – 3.9 percent, and for Bielsko-Biała – 2.0 percent.
In March, 574 people were registered at the District Labor Office in Bielsko-Biała (57 people less than in the previous month), of which 68.8 percent these are the unemployed returning to register once again. Of the total number of unemployed people, only 17.8 percent are entitled to benefits. people without employment.
Last month, there were 526 job offers for the unemployed, definitely the largest number for people with primary education. In March, the PUP did not receive any information about group layoffs.
