Mads Pedersen Suffers Fractures in Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Crash
Mads pedersen, riding for lidl-Trek, crashed out of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana on the opening day and was transported too hospital for treatment. The crash occurred before the final climb of Stage 1.
Medical assessments revealed that Pedersen sustained a fracture to his left wrist and a fracture to his right collarbone. he is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday to address these injuries, according to the team.
Lidl-trek stated, “The team’s first priority is to ensure Mads gets the best care possible and the immediate focus will be on a triumphant recovery to minimise the disruption to his season goals.”
The injuries cast doubt on Pedersen’s participation in key upcoming Classics races, including Milan-san Remo, the E3 saxo Classic, and Gent-Wevelgem (now known as In Flanders Fields – From Middelkerke to Wevelgem) in march.
