– The laser was left standing when the patrol jumped into the car and drove after a driver who did not want to stop for a check, operations manager Håkon Hatlen in the East police district tells Romerikes Blad after the sensational theft.

The incident occurred when a patrol from the Emergency Police (UP) carried out a check on Nedre Rælingsveg at 9pm on Thursday evening.

Operations manager Henrik Larsen tells NTB that a car with two people stopped, rapped the meter and drove away.

– Fortunately for us, a witness had taken a photo of the laser thieves, so we were able to find the car owner quite quickly, with whom we have been in contact.

– We are quite sure that we have the right person, but the laser has not been fixed. Now we will try to find out where he has done it, says the operations manager to NTB at 1.15 on Friday night.

He says it is about expensive equipment, which has little use value for anyone other than the police.
