Manhunt Continues for Alleged Shooter in Lake Cargelligo, Australia
Lake Cargelligo, New South Wales, Australia – A week after a tragic shooting in teh small town of Lake Cargelligo, New South Wales police are continuing an extensive manhunt for Julian Ingram, also known as Pierpoint, the alleged perpetrator. The incident,which occurred on January 22nd,resulted in the deaths of three individuals,including a pregnant woman,and left another critically injured.
The victims have been identified as Sophie quinn,24,who was pregnant,her aunt Nerida Quinn,50,and John Harris,32. Kaled Macqueen, 19, remains hospitalized after sustaining gunshot wounds during the attack.
Police released CCTV footage purportedly showing ingram at a police station on the day of the shooting, though official confirmation of his identity in the footage is pending. The footage depicts a man dressed in a yellow and navy high-visibility shirt, navy cargo pants, black boots, and a red cap, with visible tattoos on his arms.
The shooting unfolded when Ingram allegedly fired upon Quinn and Harris while they were driving on Bokhara Street.He then proceeded to a residence where he fatally shot Nerida Quinn and injured Macqueen on the driveway of a property on Walker street.
Authorities have revealed that Ingram was previously granted bail in November 2025 on charges of domestic violence related to an alleged assault on Quinn following the breakdown of their relationship. The charges included stalking or intimidation intending to cause fear or physical harm, and common assault. This prior history has raised questions regarding the conditions of his release and potential systemic failures.
The search for Ingram is proving challenging, as Assistant Commissioner andy Holland of NSW Police noted that his employment with the local council provides him with knowledge of potential hiding places, including caves and remote areas.”The hunt is under extraordinary conditions,” Holland stated, emphasizing Ingram’s familiarity with the terrain.
Police are actively searching for Ingram’s vehicle, a Ford Ranger utility with NSW registration DM-07-GZ. The vehicle is described as having council signage, a metal tray back, high-visibility markings, and an emergency light bar.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Ingram’s whereabouts or the location of the vehicle to contact Triple zero (000) promptly and to refrain from approaching him directly. NSW Police are following multiple lines of inquiry, including investigating reports of a man on a bicycle who evaded officers.
Assistant Commissioner Holland appealed to anyone assisting Ingram, stating, “Think about the wider community. What he has committed here is an atrocity.” The investigation remains ongoing as police continue their efforts to apprehend the suspect and bring justice to the victims and their families.
