However, the figures are clear: good oral hygiene promotes general health of a patient. For example, performing scaling once at a time reduces the risk of cardiovascular accidents by approximately 25% and the risk of stroke by 13%.
Conversely, diseases such as diabetes, cancers, Alzheimer’s disease, pneumonia or even cardiovascular diseases can be closely linked to certain dental pathologies.

In the same way, the UFSBD recalls “the importance of oral health on sports performance whether you are an amateur or a high-level athlete”
The “Cavity-Free Generations” goal
The French and oral health in a few key figures
Currently, 43% of French people consult their dentist each year, and often in a hurry. In neighboring countries, Germany, the United Kingdom or Sweden, annual recourse concerns between 70 to 85% of the population (1).
In France, children encouraged by preventive oral examination (M’T dents) consult their dentist in varying ways:
- 33% of 3 year olds see a dentist ;
- 71% of children aged 12;
- 52% of adolescents aged 18;
- 42% of young adults aged 24.
